Neat, videotaped MIT lectures are available for free on iTunes. I just watched a good lecture on computational science by Professor Gilbert Strang.
Last night I sat on the couch watching The Matrix Revolutions, a stupid blockbuster starring Keanu Reeves, and tonight I watched an actual matrix, or a great professor explaining on a chalkboard how one works. This small irony seemed to say everything about the choices I have made over the last few years. I can achieve high standards or sink to new lows depending on what I pay attention to. I can anesthetize myself with entertainment or recognize that all of that material I studied in college actually makes up a foundation and isn't bullshit.
